- "Sure!" This is his enthusiastic response to nearly every request.
- "Awh, man!" And this is for every disappointment. Now he smiles, though, since we laugh.
- "Booty butt!" Ella taught him this gem. We kept telling her to stop saying it, but him... oh my goodness, it's just so cute when he does.
- "Dank you, Ella" So precious

Isaac's Favorite Phrases - 2 yo
Isaac has the sweetest little voice, and he's starting to talk more and more. Of course, his true favorite phrases are "Isaac, eat, eat?" and "I want some." But here are some of my favorite things to hear him say:

Halloween 2014
We executed an "eat everything you want on Halloween and then it all disappears overnight" strategy. My favorite Ella quotes on the experience:
Someone offered her more candy, and she held up her hand, saying: "I just had a doughnut."
On the way home: "Papi, I'm tired of eating candy."

Weekly Tidbits
Yes, I took this photo while Isaac was screaming. It just had to happen that way. However, after I snapped it, Ella turned to rub his belly and sing to him. That was pretty stinkin' cute.
Other tidbits for this week:
*** Jay was asked about his friend Ella and who her parents were. He responded, "Her mommy is Sarah, and her daddy is... Papi!"
*** In an effort to entertain Ella while Billy finished hanging shelves in her new closet but continue the cool down to bedtime, we did Mommy & Ella yoga. She was great at the child's pose (go figure!), cobra, happy baby and the corpse pose. We also tried out the warrior pose. But Ella's all-time favorite was the tree pose. I see more yoga in our future!
However, as she was mimiking all my positions, she finally said, "Mama... do this!" and proceeded to contort her body into the supple position only a toddler can contrive. Um... not going to happen, chica!
*** And, of course, the real news from this week was the potty training successes. Here's to many more!

3 Tidbits
Isaac has started smiling just a bit when he hears/sees us. That's fun!
Goggles have revolutionized Ella's pool experience. She was thrilled. No water in my eyes!!!
Also, Isaac went out in public today wearing a bracelet. I suppose this is the life of a little brother with a big sister...

Isaac's Blessing
Today Isaac was prayed for with our family at church. He was on his best behavior (unlike his sister) and looked pretty stinkin' cute, if I do say so myself (and if that mattered....).

Summer Round-Up
Summer 2013 has been a brand new season for our family. Obviously, the addition of Isaac has brought new joys and new dynamics as our family became four. Ella has also continued to grow and change in ways that made this summer different than the past.
For one, she has become increasingly verbal, learning new words and phrases every week. This summer she learned to speak in sentences and more clearly articulate her emotions and experiences, leading to some awesome and humorous memories.
Some highlights:
Upon meeting her brother, who was swaddled the first time she saw him: "Does he have hands?!"
Enjoying extra grandparent time with Isaac's arrival: "You crack me up, Grandpa!"
For some reason she also acquired a British accent this summer: "Did you sleep during nap today, Ella?" "I did not." (She hasn't learned contractions yet!)
My favorite thing this summer has been visiting the pool. Isaac got in a few visits, stocking up on his Vitamin D. Unfortunately, he also suffered his first sunburn after this visit.
Ella had so much fun with her friends. She and Jay grew closer than ever this summer, loving each other's sweet company. Ella also couldn't get enough of the pool.
At an end-of-the-summer pool party, Billy let her float in a little deeper water in her life vest. She followed his instructions to kick and cried out with wonder, "I'm flying, Papi!!! I like it!" I think we've got a swimmer....
